Narrated by Bashir ibn Yasar

حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُضَيْلٍ عَنْ يَحْيَی بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ بُشَيْرِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ مَوْلَی الْأَنْصَارِ عَنْ رِجَالٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَمَّا ظَهَرَ عَلَی خَيْبَرَ قَسَمَهَا عَلَی سِتَّةٍ وَثَلَاثِينَ سَهْمًا جَمَعَ کُلُّ سَهْمٍ مِائَةَ سَهْمٍ فَکَانَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَلِلْمُسْلِمِينَ النِّصْفُ مِنْ ذَلِکَ وَعَزَلَ النِّصْفَ الْبَاقِيَ لِمَنْ نَزَلَ بِهِ مِنْ الْوُفُودِ وَالْأُمُورِ وَنَوَائِبِ النَّاسِ

حسین بن علی، محمد بن فضیل، یحیی بن سعید، حضرت بشیر بن یسار سے روایت ہے کہ انھوں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے چند صحابہ سے سنا کہ جب آپ نے خیبر فتح کر لیا تو اس کے چھتیس حصے کیے اور ہر حصہ میں سو حصے تھے۔ ان کے آدھے میں تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم اور باقی مسلمانوں کا حصہ تھا اور جو آدھا باقی رہتا اس میں دوسری ضروریات مثلا رفاہی کاموں کے لیے اور باہر سے آنے والے وفود کے لیے تھا۔

Narrated Bashir ibn Yasar: When Allah bestowed Khaybar on the Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) as fay' (spoils of war without fighting), he divided the whole into thirty six lots. He put aside a half, i.e. eighteen lots, for the Muslims. Each lot comprised one hundred shares, and the Prophet (peace_be_upon_him) was with them. He received a share like the share of one of them. The Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) separated eighteen lots, that is, half, for his future needs and whatever befell the Muslims. These were al-Watih, al-Kutaybah, as-Salalim and their colleagues. When all this property came in the possession of the Prophet (peace_be_upon_him) and of the Muslims, they did not have sufficient labourers to work on it. The Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) called Jews and employed them on contract.
