أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ أَبُو سَعِيدٍ الْأَشَجُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عُقْبَةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ وَابْنُ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ صَلَّيْتُ خَلْفَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَبِي بَکْرٍ وَعُمَرَ وَعُثْمَانَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ فَلَمْ أَسْمَعْ أَحَدًا مِنْهُمْ يَجْهَرُ بِ بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ

عبداللہ بن سعید ابوسعید اشجع، عقبہ بن خالد، شعبہ و ابن ابوعروبة، قتادہ، انس سے روایت ہے کہ میں نے حضرت رسول کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم اور حضرت ابوبکر اور حضرت عمر اور حضرت عثمان غنی کی اقتداء میں نماز ادا کی۔ میں نے کسی کو بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ بلند آواز سے پڑھتے ہوئے نہیں سنا۔

Ibn ‘Abdullah bin Mughaffal said: “If ‘Abdullah bin Mughaffal heard any one of us recite: ‘In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful’, he would say: ‘I prayed behind the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم and behind Abu Bakr and behind ‘Umar — may Allah be pleased with them both — and I did not hear any of them recite: ‘In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.” (Hasan)
