حَدَّثَنِي مَالِک عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ أَنَّهُ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ رَجُلًا اعْتَرَفَ عَلَی نَفْسِهِ بِالزِّنَا عَلَی عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَشَهِدَ عَلَی نَفْسِهِ أَرْبَعَ مَرَّاتٍ فَأَمَرَ بِهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَرُجِمَ قَالَ ابْنُ شِهَابٍ فَمِنْ أَجْلِ ذَلِکَ يُؤْخَذُ الرَّجُلُ بِاعْتِرَافِهِ عَلَی نَفْسِهِ

ابن شہاب کہتے تھے کہ ایک شخص نے اقرار کیا زنا کا رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے زمانہ میں اور چار بار اقرار کیا تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے اس کے رجم کرنے کا حکم کیا وہ رجم کیا گیا ابن شہاب نے کہا کہ اسی وجہ سے آدمی اپنے پر جواقرار کرے اس کا مواخذہ ہوتا ہے۔

Malik related to me that Ibn Shihab informed him that a man confessed that he had committed adultery in the time of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and he testified against himself four times, so the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, gave the order and he was stoned. Ibn Shihab said, "Because of this a man is to be taken for his own confession against himself."
