باب وتر کا بیان

عَنْ عَائِشَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ کَانَ يُصَلِّي مِنْ اللَّيْلِ إِحْدَی عَشْرَةَ رَکْعَةً يُوتِرُ مِنْهَا بِوَاحِدَةٍ فَإِذَا فَرَغَ اضْطَجَعَ عَلَی شِقِّهِ الْأَيْمَنِ-

حضرت ام المومنین عائشہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم رات کو گیارہ رکعتیں پڑھتے ایک رکعت ان میں سے وتر کی ہوتی جب فارغ ہوتے آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم لیٹ جاتے داہنی کروٹ پر ۔

Yahya related to me from Malik from Ibn Shihab from Urwa ibn az-Zubayr from A'isha, the wife of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, used to pray eleven rakas in the night, making them odd by a single one, and when he had finished he lay down on his right side.

عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ عَائِشَةَ زَوْجَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ کَيْفَ کَانَتْ صَلَاةُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي رَمَضَانَ فَقَالَتْ مَا کَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَزِيدُ فِي رَمَضَانَ وَلَا فِي غَيْرِهِ عَلَی إِحْدَی عَشْرَةَ رَکْعَةً يُصَلِّي أَرْبَعًا فَلَا تَسْأَلْ عَنْ حُسْنِهِنَّ وَطُولِهِنَّ ثُمَّ يُصَلِّي أَرْبَعًا فَلَا تَسْأَلْ عَنْ حُسْنِهِنَّ وَطُولِهِنَّ ثُمَّ يُصَلِّي ثَلَاثًا فَقَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَتَنَامُ قَبْلَ أَنْ تُوتِرَ فَقَالَ يَا عَائِشَةُ إِنَّ عَيْنَيَّ تَنَامَانِ وَلَا يَنَامُ قَلْبِي-

ابو سلمہ بن عبدالرحمن بن عوف سے روایت کہ انہوں نے پوچھا حضرت عائشہ سے کیونکہ تھی نماز رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی رمضان میں تو کہا حضرت عائشہ نے نہیں زیادہ کرتے تھے آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم رمضان میں اور غیر رمضان میں گیارہ رکعت پڑھتے تھے چار رکعتیں تو مت پوچھ ان کی خوبی اور طول کا حال پھر پڑھتے تھے چار رکعتیں تو مت پوچھ ان کی خوبی اور طول کا حال پھر تین رکعتیں پڑھتے تھے پوچھا حضرت عائشہ نے یا رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سو جاتے ہیں وتر پڑھنے سے پہلے فرمایا اے عائشہ میری دونوں آنکھیں سوتی ہیں اور دل نہیں سوتا ۔

Yahya related to me from Malik from Said ibn Abi Said al-Maqburi from Abu Salama ibn Abd ar-Rahman ibn Awf that he asked A'isha, the wife of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, what the prayer of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, was like during Ramadan. She said, "The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, did not go above eleven rakas in Ramadan or at any other time. He prayed four - do not ask me about their beauty or length. Then he prayed another four - do not ask me about their beauty and length. Then he prayed three." A'isha continued, "I said, 'Messenger of Allah, are you sleeping before you do the witr?' He said, A'isha, my eyes sleep but my heart does not sleep.' "

عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أُمِّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ قَالَتْ کَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي بِاللَّيْلِ ثَلَاثَ عَشْرَةَ رَکْعَةً ثُمَّ يُصَلِّي إِذَا سَمِعَ النِّدَائَ بِالصُّبْحِ رَکْعَتَيْنِ خَفِيفَتَيْنِ-

عائشہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم پڑھتے تھے رات کو تیرہ رکعتیں پھر جب اذان سنتے صبح کی تو پڑھ لیتے دو رکعتیں ہلکی پھلکی ۔

Yahya related to me from Malik from Hisham ibn Urwa from his father that A'isha, umm al-muminin said, "The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, used to pray thirteen rakas in the night and then would pray two rakas when he heard the adhan for the subh prayer."

عَنْ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عَبَّاسٍ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ بَاتَ لَيْلَةً عِنْدَ مَيْمُونَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهِيَ خَالَتُهُ قَالَ فَاضْطَجَعْتُ فِي عَرْضِ الْوِسَادَةِ وَاضْطَجَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَهْلُهُ فِي طُولِهَا فَنَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَتَّی إِذَا انْتَصَفَ اللَّيْلُ أَوْ قَبْلَهُ بِقَلِيلٍ أَوْ بَعْدَهُ بِقَلِيلٍ اسْتَيْقَظَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَجَلَسَ يَمْسَحُ النَّوْمَ عَنْ وَجْهِهِ بِيَدِهِ ثُمَّ قَرَأَ الْعَشْرَ الْآيَاتِ الْخَوَاتِمَ مِنْ سُورَةِ آلِ عِمْرَانَ ثُمَّ قَامَ إِلَی شَنٍّ مُعَلَّقٍ فَتَوَضَّأَ مِنْهُ فَأَحْسَنَ وُضُوئَهُ ثُمَّ قَامَ يُصَلِّي قَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ فَقُمْتُ فَصَنَعْتُ مِثْلَ مَا صَنَعَ ثُمَّ ذَهَبْتُ فَقُمْتُ إِلَی جَنْبِهِ فَوَضَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَدَهُ الْيُمْنَی عَلَی رَأْسِي وَأَخَذَ بِأُذُنِي الْيُمْنَی يَفْتِلُهَا فَصَلَّی رَکْعَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ رَکْعَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ رَکْعَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ رَکْعَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ رَکْعَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ رَکْعَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ أَوْتَرَ ثُمَّ اضْطَجَعَ حَتَّی أَتَاهُ الْمُؤَذِّنُ فَصَلَّی رَکْعَتَيْنِ خَفِيفَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ خَرَجَ فَصَلَّی الصُّبْحَ-

عبداللہ بن عباس سے روایت ہے کہ وہ ایک رات رہے اپنی خالہ میمونہ کے پاس جو بی بی تھیں رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی کہا ابن عباس نے لیٹا میں بستر کے عرض کی طرف اور آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی بی بی لیٹیں بستر کے طرل میں پس سو گئے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم یہاں تک کہ جب آدھی رات ہوئی یا کچھ پہلے یا کچھ بعد اس کے جاگے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم تو بیٹھے آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم اور ملنے لگے آنکھیں اپنے ہاتھ سے پھر پڑھیں دس آیتیں اخیر کی سورت آل عمران سے یعنی (اِنَّ فِيْ خَلْقِ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضِ وَاخْتِلَافِ الَّيْلِ وَالنَّھَارِ لَاٰيٰتٍ لِّاُولِي الْاَلْبَابِ) 3۔ ال عمران : 190) سے اخیر سورت تک پھر گئے آپ ایک مشک کی پاس جو لٹک رہی تھی اور وضو کیا اس سے اچھی طرح پھر کھڑے ہو کر نماز پڑھنے لگے ابن عباس نے کہا میں بھی اٹھ کھڑا ہوا اور جیسا آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے کیا ویسا ہی میں نے بھی کیا تو جب میں آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس گیا آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے داہنا ہاتھ میرے سر پر رکھا اور میرا داہنا کان پکڑ کر ملنے لگے پھر پڑھیں آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے دو رکعتیں پھر دو رکعتیں پھر دو رکعتیں پھر دو رکعتیں پھر دو رکعتیں پھر دو رکعتیں پھر وتر پڑھے پھر لیٹے رہے جب موذن آیا تو دو رکعتیں ہلکی پڑھیں پھر باہر نکلے اور نماز پڑھی صبح کی ۔

Yahya related to me from Malik from Makhrama ibn Sulayman from Kurayb, the mawla of Ibn Abbas, that Abdullah ibn Abbas told him that he had spent a night at the house of Maimuna, the wife of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, who was also Ibn Abbas' mother's sister. Ibn Abbas said, "I lay down with my head on the breadth of the cushion, and the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and his wife lay down with their heads on its length. The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, slept, until, halfway through the night or a little before or after it, he awoke and sat up and wiped the sleep away from his face with his hand. Then he recited the last ten ayats of sura Ali Imran (Sura3). Then he got up and went over to a water-skin which was hanging up and did wudu from it, doing his wudu thoroughly, and then he stood in prayer." Ibn Abbas continued, "I stood up and did the same and then went and stood by his side. The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, put his right hand on my head and took my right ear and tweaked it. He prayed two rakas, then two rakas, then two rakas, then two rakas, then two rakas, then two rakas, and then prayed an odd raka. Then he lay down until the muadhdhin came to him, and then prayed two quick rakas, and went out and prayed subh ."

عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ الْجُهَنِيِّ أَنَّهُ قَالَ لَأَرْمُقَنَّ اللَّيْلَةَ صَلَاةَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ فَتَوَسَّدْتُ عَتَبَتَهُ أَوْ فُسْطَاطَهُ فَقَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَصَلَّی رَکْعَتَيْنِ طَوِيلَتَيْنِ طَوِيلَتَيْنِ طَوِيلَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ صَلَّی رَکْعَتَيْنِ وَهُمَا دُونَ اللَّتَيْنِ قَبْلَهُمَا ثُمَّ صَلَّی رَکْعَتَيْنِ وَهُمَا دُونَ اللَّتَيْنِ قَبْلَهُمَا ثُمَّ صَلَّی رَکْعَتَيْنِ وَهُمَا دُونَ اللَّتَيْنِ قَبْلَهُمَا ثُمَّ صَلَّی رَکْعَتَيْنِ وَهُمَا دُونَ اللَّتَيْنِ قَبْلَهُمَا ثُمَّ صَلَّی رَکْعَتَيْنِ وَهُمَا دُونَ اللَّتَيْنِ قَبْلَهُمَا ثُمَّ أَوْتَرَ فَتِلْکَ ثَلَاثَ عَشْرَةَ رَکْعَةً-

زید بن خالد جہنی سے روایت ہے کہ انہوں نے کہا میں ضرور دیکھوں گا نماز رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی رات کو کہا زید نے کہ تکیہ لگایا میں نے آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے مکان کی چوکھٹ پر یا گھر جو بالوں سے ڈھپا ہوا تھا پھر کھڑے ہوئے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سو پڑھیں دو رکعتیں بہت لمبی بہت لمبی بہت لمبی پھر پڑھیں دو رکعتیں ان سے کچھ کم پھر پڑھیں دو رکعتیں ان سے کچھ کم پھر پڑھیں دو رکعتیں ان سے کچھ کم پھر پڑھیں دو رکعتیں ان سے کچھ کم پھر پڑھیں دو رکعتیں ان سے کچھ کم پھر ایک رکعت وتر کی پڑھی سب تیرہ رکعتیں پڑھیں ۔

Yahya related to me from Malik from Abdullah ibn Abi Bakr from his father that Abdullah ibn Qays ibn Makhrama told him that Zayd ibn Khalid al-Juhani said one night that he was going to observe the prayer of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. He said, "I rested my head on his threshold. The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, got up and prayed two long, long, long rakas. Then he prayed two rakas which were slightly less long than the two before them. Then he prayed two rakas which were slightly less long than the two before them. Then he prayed two rakas which were slightly less long than the two before them. Then he prayed two rakas which were slightly less long than the two before them. Then he prayed two rakas which were slightly less long than the two before them. Then he prayed an odd raka, making thirteen rakas in all."
