حسب سے متعلق فرمان نبوی صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم

أَخْبَرَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو تُمَيْلَةَ عَنْ حُسَيْنِ بْنِ وَاقِدٍ عَنْ ابْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّ أَحْسَابَ أَهْلِ الدُّنْيَا الَّذِي يَذْهَبُونَ إِلَيْهِ الْمَالُ-

یعقوب بن ابراہیم، ابوثمیلہ، حسین بن واقد، ابن بریدہ، حضرت ابن بریدہ رضی اللہ عنہ اپنے والد ماجد سے نقل فرماتے ہیں کہ دنیا داروں کا حسب جس کے پیچھے وہ لوگ دوڑتے ہیں مال دولت ہے۔

It was narrated from Jabir that he married a woman at the time of the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم and the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم met him and said: “Have you got married, Jabir? He said: ‘Yes.’ He said: ‘A virgin or a previously-married woman?’ I said: ‘A previously married woman.’ He said: ‘Why not a virgin who would play with you?’ I said: ‘Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم, I have sisters, and I did not want her to come between them and I.’ He said: ‘That’s better then. A woman may be married for her religious commitment, her wealth or her beauty. You should choose the one who is religiously committed, may your hands be rubbed with dust (may you prosper).” (Sahih)
