It was narrated from Ibn Khabbab — who is ‘Abdullah bin Khabbab — that Abu Saeed Al Khudri arrived from a journey and his family offered him some meat from the sacrificial animal. He said: “I am not going to eat it until I ask about it.” So he went to his half-brother through his mother, Qatadah bin An who had been present at Badr, and asked him about that. He said: “The opposite of what you were forbidden occurred after that, and (permission was granted) to eat the sacrificial meat after three days.” (Sahih)
