Abdullah ibn Khubab ibn Aratt reported on the authority of his father that Allah’s Messenger (SAW) offered a salah and made it lengthy. They said, “O Messenger of Allah, you prayed a prayer such as you had never prayed before.” He said, ‘Certainly, this was a salah of desire and aspiration and of fear and veneration. I asked Allah for three things and He granted me two and denied me one (of them). I asked Him not to let (all) my Ummah perish through famine, and He granted me this (prayer). And, I asked Him not to set up over them an enemy alien to them, and He granted me this (prayer). And, I asked Him not to let some of them taste war with some others of them, but He denied it to me.”
